This summer, I had the opportunity to volunteer at our daughter’s inner-city camp in Philadelphia, teaching the kids how to do Watercolor Printmaking. It was a great experience working with elementary school kids and watching them enjoy this amazing printing method.
One 11-year old boy suddenly looked up at me from his work. “Art is like baseball,” he said. “With baseball, you have to keep your eye on the ball. With painting, you have to keep your eye on the colors.” He went on to create a beautiful print, full of color, strong values and rich with enjoyment.
I hope your summer continues to be rich, keeping your eyes open and being amazed when the ball falls right into your glove.
