Locked In
“Locked In”, Watercolor, Karen Norman

Peaches were symbols of truth, honor and virtue from antiquity. For thousands of years, these were among the most sought after of human qualities.

In this painting, the peaches are contained in a glass bowl with lines and reflections. Truth, honor and virtue are fragile and yet strong. Moses said that life was about choices. “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life.”

In Jesus’ teachings, he emphasized that he was giving the key to knowledge and to the kingdom of God. The keys are on the table as a reminder that each of us has the power to unlock and to lock in, what is most important in life.
